Snow storm and Master Po

Master Po continue to grow old very gracefully, especially today while deep snow still found everywhere around our home.

First bad sign is Mrs. Po and Master Po read Altoona Mirror paper this morning about man in PA who rock his SUV back and forth to get un-stuck from snowbank.  His engine catch fire, and poor man die in fire resulting from over-heated engine. Mrs. Po immediately give Master Po hell and warn him in advance in case he get any ideas on doing something similar during his old-age adventures. And during same-mentioned snow storm.

So, shortly there-after, Master Po take dog out for walk as usual, but rememba, Master Po can only walk very short distances, so he want to take out his work vehicle, (Kymco), side by side, and he ride while honorable dog, Chanel, walk to get exercise. BUT, he sell vehicle two weeks ago and buy old Jeep instead, because it have heater, and can keep Master Po warm on winter days. His circulatory system not work well because of heart troubles. This come back to haunt Master Po later in story because of long walk in heavy snow and rememba, too, he have very, very bad knees.

Also, Young Dave jr. warn his dad just last week, when he say, "Dad, there's not much clearance in that old Jeep compared to your Kymco, so be careful."  As usual, Master Po pay little attention to young Dave jr. who have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mechanical engineering.  After all, what he know about mechanics?

So, I venture out and shortly there-after, and I promptly get stuck in Steve Replogle field (father of Mandy Cottle), in deep snow drift. And (with bad knees and faulty heart) I have to walk, in tire marks left in snow, about half mile back to main road, to flag down passing motorists. This not good for Master Po heart nor bad knees. Plus, Chanel looking at Master Po like he insane man. When I get back to main road, imagine passing motorists not want to stop for strange bearded man, waving arms wildly, in toboggan hat, wearing camo in middle of nowhere, with huge viscous dog by his side.

Finally, young man by last name of Horton drive by, then turn around, and come back to see why Master Po is waving arms like airport flagman.  Master Po thankful for young man's concern and for stopping.

I tell him that my Jeep is stuck in deep snow, and he strain eyes for 20 seconds just to see old Jeep on horizon. He say, "Oh, you're stuck way back there!" He not know, I barely make it to road where I talk to him. And I ask young man to call my wife and tell her I'm stuck in snow.  He does as asked, and leaves message for Mrs. Po. I glad she not pick up phone for fear she take out bad news on messenger. And chew him out big-time. She not find out whole story till much later when I get home.

Then honorable young Horton go to Reasy farm and ask for assistance for man, too stupid to listen to wife and son, and still take old Jeep out for pleasure ride in deep snow in farm fields.

Finally Honorable Chris Reasy, husband to Tammy Reasy, come to rescue. It take him about an hour to get Master Po un- stuck, and he admit, like other males that this stuff happen all the time to us males. He admit he get vehicles stuck twice just during this same snow storm. That no consolation to Master Po, as he tell Chris that if he hear siren go off at fire station, to realize that Mrs. Po probably shoot Master Po for whole situation.  He laugh and say, "women just not understand men, I guess."  And he is so right!  He get me out eventually, and now I home with Chanel and all seem ok but,....

I sit now, with meds rubbed into knees, and will add ice bag soon after. I am thankful that I'm back alive and well.  Also, thankful, Mrs. Po not get message from Horton, till I come home and tell the story, Or I sure that Southern Cove Ambulance would be answering call for man is distress, not due to snow storm or heart issues, but due to angry wife taking out anger on poor Master Po.

The end.
